Tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from and what you do?
My name's Beck Wadworth, I'm a mother & the Creative & Brand Director of Makespace - an architecturally designed modular house company my fiance Isaac + I launched a few short years ago.
I'm originally from Marlborough & currently reside in Auckland. I'm also a huge lover of interiors & fashion + share my world on my personal instagram.
You're based in Westmere, what do you love about Auckland?
Prior to Auckland, I lived in Sydney for 6 years. Auckland to me, feels like a mini Sydney! It's got everything I love - great restaurants & shops, culture & art, walks & ocean views, as well as the people. I also love that you can escape for a weekend away to places like Omaha, Te Arai & more within just 1-2 hours.
What does a typical day look like for you?
The start of my day is spent with my daughter Isabella (Isaac leaves very early for work!), she has a bottle & I have a coffee in bed (with cuddles of course), once we are all ready I drop her at daycare & head to the waterfront for a walk or to reformer pilates. After that I usually head home or to the Makespace HQ for work. At Makespace I handle anything to do with brand & creative including graphic design, PR, social media, interiors, content creation, digital & marketing. Isaac & I are so passionate about the brand & have so many goals & plans for the company.
After work I pick up isabella & head home for a play date followed by dinner, bath & bed. After she is sound asleep, Isaac & I pop on a playlist, a candle & eat dinner at the table debriefing about the day & anything & everything inbetween!
How would you describe your personal style?
Paired back, classic, & chic. It's quality over quantity for me when it comes to my wardrobe & I favour pieces that can last years rather than a season.
How does your personal style extend into how you style your home?
I think my personal style definitely extends to my home. Paired back, classic & chic. A neutral colour palette that has warmth through textures & tones.
I definitely favour quality over quantity at home too. Pieces that focus on form & function, serve a purpose, are beautifully designed & will stand the test of time. My new Armoana Sofa and Athena Coffee Table tick all these boxes (plus the sofa is insanely comfortable).
What does home mean to you?
Home means everything to me. It's my sanctuary, my happy place & the space I share every special family moment in.
